If you really sit and think about it, what is the reasoning we as moms aren't in the majority of photos with our kids? Aside from the obvious, being moms are just more apt to pull out the camera, what is YOUR reason?
Is it because you think you're too XYZ to be seen? Your hair is a mess, you're not dressed properly, you don't love your body or your overall look, you think you're not photogenic?
Here's a newsflash and I want you to read carefully.....YOUR KIDS DON'T GIVE A CRAP. Not a single one. They love you, all of you, as you are. All your kids want is you. Your smile, the way your eyes light up when you look at them. I promise you, they will want these photos when you're gone.
How many times have we thought about how we wished we had more photos with a loved one after they have passed? We can't do that to our kids, simply because we're camera shy. I don't care if they are professional photos, or if they are selfies from your phone. Just get in them.
This lockdown has me all up in my feels and I went through all my photos with my kids. I have compiled almost every single photo I have with them and made them into a slideshow. I showed the kids and omg, their reactions were priceless. I don't want your kids to miss out on that either.
On that same note, make sure you are printing your photos! I know we get distracted with other things and forget about it. However, technology fails us at times. You need to be able to give your kids tangible memories to hold.
So I challenge you....take photos with your kids at LEAST weekly. Just do it. They change so quickly. GET IN THE PHOTOS. Relinquish control of the camera. Let someone else take photos of you with your kids!
And for the love of all things holy, PRINT YOUR PHOTOS.
